The Westbourne Grammar School project involved the construction of a new single-storey building within the existing grounds, designed to cater for Prep to Year 2 students. The new facility boasts an open plan learning environment.
The building has a complex steel structure with a mix of composite cladding materials, including recycled fiberglass cladding, ampelite and masonry blockwork.
Internally, the building features architectural finishes ranging from plywood linings, timber veneer and raked ceilings. The building floor area is approximately 3500sqm2.
Xylems Landscape Architects tailored an extensive landscape package to compliment the new facility. Close co-ordination with the school was required during the construction phase, due to the close proximity of the existing Early Learning Centre facility, to ensure the campus could run without disruption.
