Mentone Life Saving Club Redevelopment

Client
City of Kingston
Superintendent
City of Kingston
Value
$12 Million
Completion
Due in March 2024

The Mentone Life Saving Club has a long history having been formed in 1920 and officially opening their Clubhouse in December 1928.  The Club provides vital community service to tens of thousands of visitors who visit Mentone beach each summer, and to ensure the Club can continue to service the beach, the City of Kingston is undertaking a redevelopment of the Clubhouse and foreshore precinct; a project we are extremely excited to be a part of.

The existing facility will be demolished and transformed into a state-of-the-art facility with a roof top viewing deck and modernised toilet and change facilities for the public. The new Clubhouse will include ample storage space, a kitchenette, kiosk, gym, office, dining and social facilities along with toilet, shower and training amenities for members.

The redevelopment of the foreshore precinct will include a separate pedestrian ramp with access to the beach, improved vehicle access to the lower foreshore for MLSC operations and emergency vehicles, modifications to the existing car park, significant landscaping works and major stormwater improvements to keep the bay clean.
