Ringwood is a major urban centre in Melbourne’s outer east, with its Metropolitan Activity Centre providing strong access to retail, entertainment, community and cultural facilities, commercial and government services, and public transport. As a key hub with access to jobs and services, supporting infrastructure was required to sustain the growing number of residents, workers, and visitors. Through a partnership between Maroondah City Council and the Australian Government, a new car park has been delivered within the Ringwood Activity Centre.

The completed multi‑level car park at 1 Bedford Road was constructed on the former Blood Brothers Store site, which holds heritage and social significance for the local community. In recognition of this significance, a portion of the original Blood Brothers storefront was retained and carefully relocated within the site to form part of the new facility.

The Ringwood Activity Centre Car Park spans six levels, comprising one basement level and five upper levels, and provides a total of 324 parking spaces. This includes designated electric vehicle charging bays and accessible parking spaces. The car park is supported by extended pathways that improve connectivity to surrounding local streets and Ringwood Train Station, reducing parking congestion on nearby streets and within the station car park.

Traffic safety improvements at the Greenwood Avenue intersection, together with upgraded pedestrian and cycling connections along Station Street and Greenwood Avenue, have significantly enhanced traffic and pedestrian safety in the area. These improvements support safer movement for all users, including children from nearby schools and other vulnerable members of the community who regularly navigate these roads.
