Building W at Deakin University’s Burwood Campus houses staff who administer and teach students enrolled in the School of Nursing and Midwifery.

The project involved the demolition and refit-out of the ground floor and a Home Lab and storeroom on the first floor. The fit-out was purpose-built for staff to ensure that the facilities to manage and teach Nursing and Midwifery met their requirements effectively.

Construction included new offices, meeting rooms, administration areas, a staff amenities room, and the refurbishment of the existing male and female toilets. The building had a variety of mobile and fixed furniture installed including latest model workstations, Italian designed and built furniture, and locally built furniture.

The building was occupied by Deakin University staff whilst construction took place, however they were temporarily relocated. Though the project was not staged, it was handed over in two sections to ensure staff and students were not restricted with their use of the building.
