Conveniently located near Burwood Train Station, Hartwell Train Station, and the Hartwell Shopping Strip, the site at 1180 Toorak Road, Camberwell has an area of 550m2, all of which is occupied by a commercial office building. The four-level building was delivered under a design and construct contract and comprises a ground floor and a further three floors with an elevator servicing all levels.

The structural design included screw piles and ground beams to form the sub-structure, and precast panels for the lift shaft and front and rear fire escape staircases. Each floor level was constructed using a combination of off-form concrete columns and suspended concrete slabs which incorporated bondeck and conventional formwork. The third level was built with a structural steel portal frame to allow for a clear span floor space.

The building façade features a combination of aluminium glazed windows and alucobond, with the frames constructed locally and the glass imported from China. To satisfy town planning requirements, a red brick pattern was cast into the precast panels facing Toorak Road.

The ground level of the building is dedicated to the entry foyer, cleaners’ room, plant room and secure car park with 13 car stackers imported from Germany. The three levels above each boast full perimeter natural light and modern amenities with bathrooms, kitchens, and shower facilities, and have been fully fitted out. The entire building is serviced by high-level security and access control, automated mechanical systems and a Le Grande Lighting control system and features state-of-the-art audio visual and information technology.
