Since its opening in 2006, the Boroondara Sports Complex in Balwyn North has become a highly popular facility within the community. To continue offering top-tier amenities, the complex underwent a significant expansion, merging with the adjacent Balwyn Leisure Centre.
As part of the redevelopment, the existing car park and administration building were demolished to make way for a new two-level extension with a public entrance. This extension includes a new multi-purpose court, a gymnastics hall with sprung flooring and specialised equipment, group fitness and program rooms, a crèche, a reception area, and administration offices. Additionally, the extension features a health club, new amenities and change rooms, complemented by a newly constructed car park and landscaped grounds.
Throughout the construction, the existing facilities within the Balwyn Leisure Centre continued to operate with minimal disruption to its users.
